Quaterly Report – August, September & October

The third quarter of the year - the month of August, Girls Islamic Organisation (GIO), put together an art and craft workshop called "Gift It Yourself" instructed by Sr. Rukhaiya, area in-charge of Mogappair & member of GIO. The workshop was held on an online platform - Zoom and live stream on YouTube

The month of September brought in new experiences for the organisation. Teacher's Day was celebrated on the 4th & 5th of the month. On 4th September, the day was celebrated in Good Word Public School - Red Hills by organising a fun filled carnival for the teachers as we believed that there is a child within them that needed a day to enjoy.

On 5th September, the girls of the organisation invited their beloved teachers, who created an impact in their lives, to IIC Hall - Perambur. The teachers were introduced by their students and at the end of both days, the teachers were facilitated by the organisation.

In the month of October, the organisation hosted an orientation programme, for a new beginning at Egmore. A four week skill development training on Basics of Microsoft Excel was organized for women, tutored by Sr. Rizwana Umar (B.Tech, Program Manager in Microsoft). During this month, the state of Tamil Nadu planned a state wide campaign on "Healthy Body, Healthy Mind & Healthy Society". The Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Chennai Metro in collaboration with Girls Islamic Organisation (GIO) organised an exhibition in Ayanavaram, Mogappair & Villivakkam, where various models and charts on the topic where put together, displayed and explained to the visitors and guests who inaugurated the exhibition. Digital posters themed to the campaign were also circulated on social media. The campaign turned out to be a great accomplishment. Alhamdulillah.

The third quarter Tarbiyyah was conducted on 24th October, 2021 by Br. Anees Ahmed ~ Academic Coordinator Good Word Public School and a member of AIITA (All India Ideal Teacher's Association) on the topic "Are We Fit Enough?" In IIC Hall - Perambur, which was attended by the members & associates of GIO Chennai Metro.

GIO also conducted a Scholarship Awarding Programme at Good Word Public School - Red Hills on 30th October, 2021 wherein selected students of the school were awarded with scholarship based on their academic performances. The special guest for the day was Dr. Roksana, Founder and Director or Mother Theresa Montessori Training Institute, Vadapalani.

Lastly, weekly classes were held in various parts of Chennai, news was read in English and Tamil on alternate days, which was then posted on our YouTube channel (True Way of Life) regularly. Daily posters as well as posters for notable events were circulated throughout social media. Improvement classes for members and membership classes for applicant members carried on at its own pace as well. Alhamdulillah.
