Behind the Papers

Updated: Apr 8, 2021

Good Day and Assalamu Alaikum to everyone! In this article, we’ll be sharing our views on a piece that was recently featured in a very well-known newspaper. The article had all types of fabrications concerning Muslim reverts within the past and therefore the reason behind them.

The article addressed the overall belief that individuals have regarding conversion to Islam. It basically expressed how individuals solely revert to Islam for the “Beneficial factors” and not due to the religion or the values.

In the initial part of the article, the article declared that how “People from the backward caste (Islam and Christianity) although they live here (India), with all the privileges and advantages, they need the necessity to convert people”. He additionally mentioned that even though we are one of the foremost followed faith within the world, it ain’t sufficient for us and we have a tendency to feel the necessity to convert additional individuals. The author implies that the many those who convert or revert to Islam they are doing that only for the advantages or materialistic things and not for his or her own personal beliefs or principles.

The most vital half in this article was the claims the author created concerning a bunch of individuals from Tirunelveli who reverted to Islam decades ago, and he claims that the most reason for his or her conversion is as a result of the advantages they gained and not as a result of their religion. The profit being the right to marry three to four women in Islam and the way it'll become their means of financial gain etc. Whereas in point of fact, many people reverted to Islam as a result of our theologies, principles or how they became impressed by a fellow Muslim’s actions. However there aren’t any proof for these allegations that was created by the author and it additionally disdained these people’s decisions and their beliefs. Their selection being nothing but reverting to Islam and selecting Akhirah over Dunya. However the author concluded the article by saying that individuals who revert out of religion and believe is acceptable and that they have nothing against them.

There are numerous misconceptions in general when it involves conversion and people have numerous claims when it comes to the explanation why they converted from one faith to another. However the complete reason behind their decisions is subjective. The choices we tend to make is sometimes influenced by our surroundings, family, etc. There are numerous people who have converted from Islam to a different faith and most of the time the explanation has been as a result of their personal experience. One person’s experience doesn’t mean that everybody goes through an equivalent. Their experience and their struggles are heard and they are valued however sometimes they shed a wrong light towards all those people who belong to the same community.

To conclude, India is a country that is known for its diversity, cultural and spiritual variations. it's also better-known for its freedom. From our point of view, it's necessary that an individual should be able to create his/her own decisions and as a fellow individual, it's our duty to respect others, regardless of their decisions. Everybody has their own reasons for the choices they make, however, it's still their call to make those decisions and that they are meant to be revered. The author concluded the article by saying that he has nothing against people reverted out of religion and Belief. However, everyone should be respected for his or her choice regardless of the purpose. Typically everybody believes that the reason individuals revert is for advantages however that isn’t the case always. Hope this text has given an insight into the total construct of reversion and the way it's usually misunderstood by individuals.
