Two Souls One Deen

“What could be more beautiful than two heart meeting for the sake of Allah?”

Ukhti – A mirror that shows you your faults & A hand that guides you back.

Tho we are two souls with different personalities, different qualities, with different thoughts & ideas, different goals and Journey.

But when it comes to faith, we are same. We worship and believe the same God and our destination and our final goal to attain Jannah is same.

It is the essence of Islam because of which we all are United though we are different in many things. Our journeys are different, but our deen has kept as united.

One of my best experiences come from GIO

Sisters from different age group, different passion, various background, personalities, interests, dreams, goals, experience. The way of thinking may be different in all of us, but Islam brings us together as one ummah. Here, we all sit together to learn about one deen and about one Lord.

“What if the friends you choose today becomes the reason you stand with the righteous ones or the reason you regret your friendship tomorrow?”

Allah says:

“Close friends, that day will be enemies to each other, except for the righteous ones” 41:64

Righteous friend is the one who corrects you when you do wrong, advises you when you need it, supports you when you feel weak and while going through difficulties.

        “A friend in deen is a friend indeed “

Righteous friend will encourage you to do deeds that will seek the pleasure of Allah. When we surround ourselves with righteous people, we naturally get inspiration from them to do good, when we see them doing good and striving for Jannah – we feel to do the same.  There efforts inspire us to become a good Muslim and when we are with them, we are also less likely to fall into sins when we go in the wrong way, righteous friend reminds us, stops us and helps us stay away from it. With them we feel uneasy about committing sin because we know it is not right. We stop normalising what displeases Allah.

This is one of the greatest blessings of Allah which is given to us. Righteous friend is one of the greatest sources of guidance & protection in the journey towards Jannah.

 In opposite to this, a bad company can lead us towards going astray. They might influence us in committing actions that will displease Allah.  While we stay in such company for a longer time, there is a great risk of normalizing sins.

The Qur’an reminds us of the regret of a person who will say:

‘I wish I had not taken that person as a friend.’ (25:28)

So, we should be careful while choosing our friends as it is said: “Tell me who your friends are and I will tell who you are”

This shows that we reflect our friends. The language they speak, the thoughts they have, their actions and their behaviour slowly influence us, the way they tease others and disrespect elders – though we feel it is wrong but being in their company slowly turns us like them and we don’t even realize. The scary thing is we make all these so normal that we don’t even feel it is sin anymore.

May Allah protect us from such bad company and surround us with people who strive to seek Allah’s pleasure.
