Rediscovering Lost Humanity

This is a tale that started over 1400 years ago.

When in the Arabian peninsula, humanity was at an all time low.

A society dominated by the males,

Where women were treated inhumane.

The female child was buried alive,

Just so the tradition could thrive.

Men would marry as they wished,

Adultery and fornication flourished.

Drinking and gambling was rampant,

Slavery was at the forefront.

War was seen as a pastime,

The only protection for people was their tribe.

There was no law, there was no order,

People worshipped whoever.

In the midst of this grim age,

Was sent a man with a message.

He learnt and let his knowledge flow,

And slowly but surely, humanity began to grow.

He was a living, breathing guide,

And spread his message far and wide.

Of love, compassion, peace and harmony,

And the existence of a single deity.

His message had transformed the globe,

Gave everyone a slice of hope.

But, as decades and centuries passed on,

His teachings dwindled among his own.

We regressed back to the ways of the early times,

Of cheating and fighting and other heinous crimes.

And now it is our duty and responsibility,

To rediscover the lost humanity.
